Introduction to Connecting Some Dots:

Students have difficulty grasping connections between technical studies and the repertoire that they hope to master. “Connecting Some Dots” addresses that challenge. Studies in all major and minor keys are directly correlated with two-octave scales and arpeggios. Alert practice of the scales and arpeggios noticeably facilitates successful performance of the associated melodic studies. The results are immediately convincing.

I urge you to follow guidance that is included. The 2nd violin/viola parts provide a fun reward for prepared students to play with their teacher’s accompaniment, or to use for performances.

Those wishing to gain comfort in switching between violin and viola may also find Connecting Some Dots to be helpful.
